What Marrakech gives you from the air
A low, uniform city with the Atlas behind it for much of the year, the Palmeraie, the golf courses, and a medina whose texture only really reads from above. For hospitality and luxury real estate it is probably the best aerial ground in the country.
The trade-off: the medina and listed sites are protected, and Marrakech-Menara airport sits inside the urban fabric, which closes part of the sky to the south-west.
The city where foreign productions get it wrong most
Marrakech attracts international shoots, and with them the same repeated mistake: arriving with your own drone. Recreational flying is banned in Morocco, importing a drone requires prior authorisation that is rarely granted, and aircraft are routinely seized at customs.
Do not bring your drone. Work with a local operator whose equipment is already properly imported — faster, cheaper, and with no risk of confiscation.

- The medina is a listed site: overflight requires a specific authorisation and is not granted as a matter of course. Riads and private terraces are considerably simpler to arrange than general medina overflight.
